i was sitting in an auditorium attempting to keep up with the dialogue of infected references
when
300 or more voices swarmed me falling like snowflakes of regurgitated metaphors divulging dementia like in-decodable patterns wrapping me in their esoteric lives
my ears became frustrated with their inability to localize sound
so i started calculating the intricacies of shoe laces hiding beneath prepositions and running from thinning syntax
i never before felt fear in this way
even with all of this noise i could still hear that my heart had been transformed though i could not feel it
i have never been good at getting anywhere when i run but i am not afraid of worn stones and smooth glass maybe i am different older like a grain of sand
